Too many authors have spent hundreds to develop beautiful multimedia websites to showcase their books. However, all too often I see authors that fail to have a subscribe box, on page 1, above the fold so that EVERY visitor has the opportunity to express their interest and to stay connected to your work. Even if you do have a subscriber email list but the visitor must hunt for it, the marketing value is lost. And having a list doesn’t even have to cost you a penny. Mailchimp offers a fancy platform with a very generous subscriber quantity for free. TinyLetter has a simple word doc type of format and is also FREE to use. Recently, Mailchimp purchased TinyLetter. So if you don’t have an email list you are cheating your potential new fans out of an opportunity to follow and grow with you.
